Pre-requisite
The minimum requirements proposed by the industrial experts for those interested to enrol for this course are as follows:
• Completion of Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent.
• Physically and mentally fit.
• Malaysian citizen
• 18 years old and above
Employment Prospect
The provision of old folk homes or nursing homes for the purpose of long-term care will soon become a necessity, as the ageing phenomenon becomes more prevalent in Malaysia. The decline in family as the primary caregiver for the elderly who need long-term care has created an increasing demand for institutional care. Elderly care centres currently are in current demand of institutional care givers and the management of these centres must also be skilled and competent to cater to the needs of the elderly.
